Mommy's Socks...

So today we had a pretty busy day...We got up this morning and made pancakes and yes Gracie helped a lot (she insists on helping out with the cooking); we went outside and washed my car (and Gracie drank so much of the soapy water that she got the hiccups, I had to keep smacking her hand because she kept dipping her hand in and then sucking them off); at this point we finally (or Gracie anyway) took a nap! After nap time we went to have lunch with Grandma and Grandpa at their pretend campground, we played outside then it was off to swimming lessons. Gracie had a BLAST tonight at swimming lessons and she wore me out! She wiggled and kicked so much you would have thought it was the first time she had ever been in the water! After we got home from swimming lessons we played outside for a little bit longer so Winnie could play and then it was inside to settle down for bedtime. Here is where the picture comes in...Gracie LOVES to take clothes out of drawers and put them back. Tonight she got into my sock drawer and was fascinated with taking the pairs of socks apart and then it looked like she was attempting to put them on. After a few attempts she brought a pair to me so I would put them on her and here is the end result. She wore these for about an hour until I took them off of her for bed!

Puppy Love

As I said in my previous post I wanted to try and get some better pictures of Miss Prissy Pants in her sunglasses and well I did! This morning after we got dressed I told Gracie to grab her glasses so we could go bye bye. So, we grabbed them and put them on and to my surprise (and lucky I had the camera ready) she left them on. She struted down the hall and then started chasing Winnie because she wanted to give her a hug. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts she finally was able to catch Winnie and give her a hug. Winnie gave lots of wet kisses in return which brought about lots of giggles from Gracie Beth!!!!!

We were then off to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa Knight. They were supposed to go camping this weekend, however, they had some wiring trouble and had to skip camping. BUT Papa had the camper all ready for Gracie in the driveway with her own little camping chair. We even pulled the picnic table over and ate lunch outside (or attempted to anyway). SUPERSTAR!

Gracie has been SLOWLY getting used to wearing her sunglasses that she got for her birthday. At first she would not leave them on at all and would barely let you put them on her face. Now she will let you put them on her and let you oooooh and ahhhhh for a few seconds and then rip them off. However, I have gotten her to keep them on a few times so I figure in a few weeks she will think they are cool and wear them on a regular basis...have to protect those big blue eyes!

Tonight I wanted to get some shots of her wearing her sunglasses outside with her hair in pigtails (compliments of daycare) but by the time I got dinner finished, fed Gracie, and gave Gracie a bath she was sooooo ready for bed. Kev and I did manage to get a couple of her before bed modeling her shades. I am sure I will get some good ones this weekend since it is supposed to be beautiful!

On Sunday as the day went on Gracie started looking as though she had pink eye and since she had been exposed to it at daycare I was sure that was what was going on with her little eye. So arrangements were made with Mama and Papa Whited (who thank goodness were taking vacation and going to be home the first part of the week) for Gracie to go to their house on Monday after I took her to the doctor. Well, Gracie wakes up Monday morning with her eyes all yucky but when I cleaned her up they looked fine but off to the doctor anyway! The doctor informed me that he did not feel that Gracie had pink eye and that it was probably allergies, however, he did tell me that she had yet another ear infection. Therefore, Gracie will be seeing a specialist in the next few weeks to determine if she needs to have tubes. So, because we still were not 100% sure about the pink eye, Gracie had to stay out of daycare on Monday and Tuesday. Well, today she decided to skip also and spend one more day with Mama and Papa and guess what Gracie got to do....we went to watch the elephants from the circus take bubble baths!!!!!!!! Gracie had a blast and got lots of goodies!

We got there really early to get a good spot so we could see all the action!

Here are a couple of sweet pictures that were taken by Mama and Papa Whited a few weeks ago! Gracie was napping with their puppy Floie. Usually Floie has to be put in a pen when Gracie is around because she jumps up in her face but apparently they bonded on this afternoon and decided to cuddle.

Adventures at Daycare

This evening was Parent/Teacher night at daycare and it was the last time I would meet with Gracie's teacher Ms. Lynn. Since Gracie started at daycare, Ms. Lynn has always given me the best pictures that she takes and I think maybe she should be a professional because Gracie always seems to be smiling in the pictures (seems I can rarely get her to smile long enough to take a picture). So tonight she gave me a bunch more pics that I love but two especially. The one of Gracie outside is just darling and then there is the picture of the crew sleeping on their cots for the first time. It is the sweetest thing! Gracie of course is the one with her butt up in the air with no blanket!!!!! Thanks again Lynn for everything you have done for Gracie!!!!!

Easter Weekend Fun!

Easter morning after church

Even though it snowed and we didn't get to go hunt easter eggs we still had a wonderful weekend with all of our family. Gracie didn't even care that she missed all the egg hunts because she still had plenty of egg hunting indoors and, of course, Gracie got plenty of goodies from the Easter Bunny! Surprisingly, everyone got her heathly stuff! Lots of fruit and snacky stuff no candy!!!!!!!!!!!! Grandma and Papa Knight even got her a toothbrush and some tooth paste for her three teeth!!!!

Today was Gracie's first full day in her new classroom. She was a little unsure at first when I dropped her off but I watched her in the monitors for a little bit and once they separated all the classes and she was actually in her room she seemed at home. Her and Sophie were walking around checking things out and chillin on the beanbag. This afternoon was their spring party and since I actually had the day off I decided to join in the fun. When I arrived they had already started eating and they were clearly enjoying their party foods! Also, they had actually put Gracie's hair up in a little pigtail thing so her and Sophie had matching hair styles. I got a few pics of the new crew and a few of Gracie and her best pal Sophie!

Update

Gracie is doing really well in the new classroom. Tomorrow she will be in the room most of the day and then Friday will be her first full day. She is coming home exhausted which is kind of nice when it is time for bed. I also like the fact that she has learned to just get in her bed when it is time to sleep. I have been trying to rock her for the past week and she will shake her head until I put her in the bed and she goes to sleep on her own. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is growing up so fast. Before long we will be getting out the toddler bed!

The picture is from the other morning. I don't remember why she was throwing a fit but I was trying to get a good picture real quick in her new outfit from her Aunt Michele and she came around the corner screaming. It was probably because I walked out of the room without picking her up! Spoiled Rotten!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby Bug to Jr. Tadpole...

THEN.........

My little baby bug is becoming a Jr. tadpole this week! Gracie is graduating into the next classroom at daycare. Each day this week she will spend a little more time until Friday I will drop her off and pick her up there for her first full day. There are four of them that are moving up together including Gracie's best friend Sophie. They have been getting them ready for their big move by having them sleep on cots and sitting at a table and eating with a plate and utensils!

Yes, I admit it, I almost cried when Ms. Lynn told me she was moving up. I know Gracie will be fine in the new room and she is ready to "spread her wings" but it still makes me sad because everyone in the baby bugs room is WONDERFUL! It also means that Gracie is growing up. I see the kids that were in the room with Gracie and it seems like as soon as they get in the new room they look so grown up! So again, a big thank you to Ms. Lynn, Ms. Alicia, Ms. Jess, and Ms. Kristy (and everyone else) for showing my Gracie so much love and making her feel at home for the past nine months.
