Best Buds for Life

Winnie Mae has always been jealous of Miss Gracie. She ignored her at first and then just tolerated her (which sometimes she still does a little of both) but she also has lots of love for our Gracie. Winnie loves to give Gracie kisses and it always seems to be right in the face and Gracie just squeals! She loves the dog so much and everytime she sees Winnie her face just lights up. Even when she is fussy or even sick it is Winnie that can get a big smile and a giggle from her. So as much as the dog drives me crazy she is here to stay because her and Gracie will be best buds for life.

Happy 1st Birthday Gracie Beth!!!!!!

My sweet Gracie is one today! I can't believe that a year has already gone by...before I know it she will be starting school!

Yesterday we had Gracie a little birthday celebration with family and Gracie's best friend, Sophie, joined us! Gracie got lots of presents ( a big thank you to all) and loved her balloons and cake! Actually, I think those were her two favorite things. I love this picture of Sophie giving Gracie a big birthday hug! I will add some cake pictures later...we really didn't get any good ones because Kev had the video camera. I will get some and post them.

Yesterday was also Gracie's first swimming lesson! She was unsure at first and cried for about five minutes or so but then she seemed to get the hang of things and had a ball! Gracie is taking swimming lessons with her friends Sophie, Ben and her new friend Ethan!

Sesame Street is the Bomb!

As a child growing up all we really had to watch was Sesame Street and I still to this day love it. After having Gracie I realized that it was almost impossible to find it on the tv. Thank goodness for videos! Gracie really doesn't have much interest for the childrens shows right now and it is a miracle when she sits still to watch anything. However, while watching this video she actually would occasionally sit and watch what was going on and when Ernie came on singing about his rubber ducky she shot up to the television and stood there through the whole song. It was priceless. I don't know what it was about this particular song...may be because she has a bath book about Ernie and his ducky or the fact that she has a rubber ducky???? Whatever it was she loved it and I am hoping that she will love and learn from Sesame Street the same as her mommy did!

Just Chillin

Grandma Joan and Grandpa Eddie bought Miss Gracie her own couch after seeing how much she loved the one at day care. This couch is the cadillac of all couches. It turns into a little bed and has its own little built in sleeping bag. She loves it! She looks quite at home on her little couch, don't you think? In this particular picture she is playing her new phonics game while chillin on the couch. She just looks so grown up!

Cup of Java

Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner and Uncle Nate brought a box of coffee to give to Grandpa. Well...Gracie thought it was a new toy for her. She had a blast with this box of coffee. For a little while she stood outside of the box taking the coffee out and then putting it back in. Then she decided she could probably climb into the box and with a little help that is exactly what she did. She had a blast! Why do we still buy all those expensive toys when they are satisfied with a box!

On the Move!

Well, Gracie is walking. She kinda looks like a zombie with her arms outstreched in front of her, the serious look on her face and the stiff robot way she moves her legs. It is precious! Tonight we got some pictures, even though she looks like a little orphan annie, (what she wore home from day care) of her doing her zombie walk. After she was tired of walking her and her daddy and Winnie did a little wrestling on the floor!

Yummy, Yummy in my Tummy!

Gracie seems to love all things Italian...lasagna, spaghetti, pizza or really anything with a tomato base. She gobbles it right up and usually stains anything that she comes in contact with including my floor. This was at lunch this past Saturday. A little trick that I do is to add some chopped broccoli and cauliflower to the sauce so she gets her veggies. I also gave her wheat pasta in this batch and she didn't skip a beat!

Our Sweetest Valentine

After battling a terrible cold last week Gracie made her recovery just in time to start celebrating what I thought was a one day holiday but leave it to the grandparents to drag it out a little longer. She received lots of valentine goodies and loved every bit of it! She also got to make valentines for all of her friends at school. She was pretty good at keeping the paint on the cards, however, she did ingest a tiny bit! Valentine's Day started out pretty rough but in the end turned out pretty well. Gracie exchanged valentines with her friends and they had a special snack of what I was initially told was going to be a sugar cookie....well, I was informed when picking Gracie up that she had a cupcake with pink icing and a chocolate chip cookie! Sugar, sugar and sugar!!!!! But she loved it and afterall it was Valentine's Day!
